| Summary | 0000569: Single kick, double join | ||||
| Description | We have this one channel with three bots on three different servers. They monitor a channel that is setup to be for children and kicks/bans people for using bad language. This is very rare to occur, but it seems odd. Possibly from server lag, I'm guessing two of the bots kicked the same person, but only one kick message is usually shown. Yet the person joins twice. 11/11 (Good Example of two bots kicking and both showing it, but why does it double-up?) Hm, a double join is theoretically impossible (??)... very weird ;). |
Did you actually see this on your screen or is this from a (mIRC) logfile? |
I saw on the screen. I first noticed it while I was writting my own services. I had my services set to give errors when trying to add a user to a channel when they were already there. So I ended up getting these ocassional error messages and after a little investigation, I found the double joins. |

ic... I've added code (in CVS) so it will warn when a duplicate user joins *** Notice -- [BUG] Duplicate user entry in SJOIN! Please report at http://bugs.unrealircd.org !!! [etcetc], so this may be related.. hm! :P. I first thought it was an old b13 bug with large chans, but it was on >=b14 servers at chans with only 6 users, etc. (You can download the latest CVS versions from http://www.vulnscan.org/UnrealIrcd/cvs/?M=D [ordered by date]). Maybe we can trace this bug now ;). |

This might have been fixed in latest CVS. Please re-report if you can test with latest CVS or with beta16 (whenever that comes out). |
