ACK, but .. do we need it, really? |
Erm. Which does mIRC use to generate the graphical view? /links or /map? Wouldn't want to break client functionality here. |
it's look pretty in irssi, x-chat, mirc and etc. like this: http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/7185/mapwz6.png |
wow. |
mIRC uses /links to generate a graphical view, not /map. Do we need it? No. Will it break anything? Probably someone's script. Does it look cool? Yes. Overall, I think this would be a good feature to add. |
Could some of the old timers verify if we actually used to have this? :P I seem to recognize it from early Unreal's .. |
stskeeps, i dont rememebr seeing this before, though if you'd like I can load some old copies (like 3.1.1 and a few others) and check to see. Also, Phoenix: do we need it? Yes, will it break anything? no? wtf would it? does it look cool...as cool as multiplayer notepad can look |

there was an old bugreport abuot this (angrywolf?), codemastr had some comments about it IIRC (user confusion?). now to find it ;p |
Good solution, such map view is more nice than standard. I support it :) |
mm i may remember whats syzop is talking about, but hell if i could find it ;P |

This should probably be closed, see 0002983 While I don't have a strong position on this, it sounds odd to remove something for probably good reasons and then readd it X years later with no changed reasoning. quoting codemastr: - all you added was the percentage of users. We originally had this, and removed it for two reasons. One, I don't see why it's "useful" (feel free to try to convince me otherwise) and two, people complained about the fact that rounding errors resulted in totals like 99.9% or 100.1%, which there is nothing we can do about. - sts what do you say? |
I agree with codemastr's statement, closing this bug. A 3rd party module can do this as well (/map replacement) if a network really wants it. |
