Summary | 0003246: /silence
Description | The silence command '/silence' adding new features and functionality Hello, i am not sure if i am doing this right, or if this is the right place to post this, sorry in advance, but i do have an idea i wish to see implemented in future builds, The /silence command, instead of just silencing a certain nick/[email protected], i would like to see it be able to silence a particular channel or all channels depending which one the client/user would wish to do. A new theoretical silence command with command line arguments should look like so Example: (1) /silence (-a) [#] where -a is for all, and '#' of course is for channels. Example: (2) /silence (-p) [#gromit] where -p is for a particular channel, and #gromit is the channel that is wanting to be ignored. Or you can use the wild card '*' to ignore channel(s) that start with a certain letter or partial word or have the 'letter' or partial word anywhere in the Channame. Example: (3) A certain letter /silence (-p) [#*g], and in other combinations [#g*] or[#*g*] Example: (4) Partial word /silence (-p) [#*grom*], and in other combinations as above.

There's already a way to silence channels. /part And if you want to silence all channels? /join 0 |
Or you could have two connections to the network. Set user mode d on just one of them ^^ |
It was just an idea i had for a while, to have more flexibility and control over that command. Anyway, i was just wondering what people thought about it and if they would be willing to incorporate it in newer builds. |
Think I'd like to see this in a 3rd party module first |
I could leave this issue lingering but it's better to say that we are not considering this option at the moment or in the nearby feature, so let's close it. |
