Silence works for me... if you are gettng an unknown command error, try maybe /quote SILENCE or /raw SILENCE

Marking as feedback for the moment, pretty sure its just your client.

Seems to work fine for me too, it just needs a quick add in the doc ;)

As a note, I was surprised the command requires a hostmask only and don't take a nick also.

Well not a hostmask matter I think, but a bit confusing

Example:
1. foonick is online, /silence foonick :
(nothing)

2. /silence foonick!*@* :
 GARBAGE: [email protected] SILENCE +foonick!*@*

3. foonick not online, /silence +foonick :
 foonick :No such nick/channel

As far as I can ever recall in all standards of IRCd side commands (the actual IRCd interpreted, not the client 'processed'), you should always expect ones based on a client connected, to require at least a ident@host if not nick!ident@host

Commands that take a nick and then convert it into a hostmask usually get done client side (such as say mIRC with /ban or stuff like that, it'll automatically get the hostmask of the user)

I suppose for sanity sake could make it so it returns a proper error at least though, that much shoulda been done.
