Summary0006162: WHOWAS not keeping history well
DescriptionThere are several reports, but never here on bugs.unrealircd.org, that WHOWAS is not working well. Like nothing being found on /WHOWAS nick, even though that nick only disconnected 1 minute ago, with the default WHOWAS history of 2000 and no netsplits in-between.

First one was a forum post somewhere (using Windows), other one is musk (Linux), and I think I have seen it once... or so.... It is not new and I think it was claimed by some people in 5.x as well but I could be mistaken.

It would be great to have a reproducible case, but I don't have one... it seems to work fine on irc.unrealircd.org, like /WHOWAS musk giving like 40 entries.

I also wondered if REHASH maybe accidentally would clear entries, but that too does not seem to be the case. Or not for me directly anyway.

Have also briefly looked at the whowas code a few months ago but did not immediately spot something. So yeah, not sure what else I can do. If anyone has this problem and knows a way to reproduce it, or like when exactly it happens, feel free to add a comment here!

The reporter on the forums said it was a bug in his client code, was sending the wrong whowas command, and the issue was resolved after sending the correct WHOWAS command.

Seems nobody who had this says they still have it or cannot reproduce.
