| Description | Hi, It seems that I cannot view the ban list of a channel when I am not in the channel. However several IRCd's support this, and I believe it is a good feature. (Not saying that UnrealIRCd should copy what every other IRCd has!) It would be interesting to know who banned you when you are banned, so you can contact that person, or to know which banmask masks you. Because if it's, for example *!*@*.com, you'd know there's a big chance someone else just caused trouble, etc. It would also be good when supporting users, you could tell them which banmask matches them, without really having to join the channel, for example when it's +s etc. Regards, Wiggle :). | ||||

This is not a bug, it is a feature. I asked codemastr about this once, and the purpose isto keep people who are banned from a channel from being able to get the ban list and evade the ban. Also, you don't need to join the channel if you have a user asking why they are banned. As an oper, you are more than welcome to /mode #channel b to see the list yourself. |

Hmmm, opers should be able to see bans... Could this be limited to something higher than Global (Global is what I tested it with)? |

I doubt it, since I'm a server administrator. Wiggle is using modes +iowghrAsxWzvtp +kcfjveGqSso When I do /mode #channel b or /mode #channel +b, I just don't get any output. |
