| Summary | 0004370: Cloaks/spoofs for allow{} blocks | ||||
| Description | As per summary, we should have spoofs for allow{} blocks. This would be helpful for catching cases where CGIIRC authentication has failed, or, relevant to myself: it would be great to denote where each user has come from like a Tor hidden service. Others on IRC mentioned various other gateways (VPNs, proxies, etc), or git commit notification bots whose IPs don't resolve or don't resolve to anything appropriate. | ||||

This would remove the need for a separate server and some patching, for me. |

|
Just to be clear, you mean vhosts on connect right? Without login/pass, but automatically based on IP. |

|
In 6.1.8 we have vhost::auto-login which basically provides the same. With variable support in vhost::vhost as well. I should add that Gottem's module 'autovhost' provided this for years already. |
