Summary | 0006064: Feature request: SWHOIS oper_only tag
Description | I'd like to request a way to set an SWHOIS which can be viewed only by opers. I was thinking of a tag called 'oper_only' as a bit of a quick and dirty solution, but of course, should you decide to implement it, I'm sure you would do so in a more proper manner =] Thanks for considering =]

When would you use swhois items that should be viewable by oper-only... can you give an example use case? Thanks! |

I think much like a shun showing in a whois only to opers by default, I think it would be great to be able to have services set information that should be viewable by only opers. for example, in a security measure taken by services, or other specific security pseudo, or another ircd (like shun), information about the security measure can be viewed in the whois by an oper. the main reason I ask for this to be honest is because I want to implement (in my services) a traffic light system based on number of certain bad events which I think should be reflected in the users whois and viewable only to ircops. it just makes those sorts of customisation a bit easier for a service, which have further information they'd probably want to display directly in a whois rather than an /ns INFO command, to be able to set this information thx :) |
