Summary0006653: Show the cloaked host in WHOIS when a user has a vhost
DescriptionHello,

When a user has a vhost (via vhost {} or hostserv), the vhost replaces the cloaked host as the visible host, and the cloaked host is no longer shown anywhere in WHOIS. UnrealIRCd still keeps it internally, and bans on the cloaked host still match that user. I'd like to propose an extra WHOIS line that shows the cloaked host when it differs from the visible host.

Why this would help?
For Channel Operators, if several users share the same vhost, a chanop cannot target just one of them.
A ban such as: "+b ~quiet:*!*@vhost.example" hits everyone who uses that vhost. Bans on the cloaked host already work fine for a user who has a vhost, so the server matches against the cloak. Chanops just have no way to find out what it is.

And for IrcOps, IrcOps see the real host and IP in WHOIS, but not the cloaked host (if user has a vhost). If an ircop sets a ban in a channel using what they can see " +b ~quiet:*!*@203.0.113.10", the user's real IP becomes visible to everyone in the channel. Banning the cloaked host would avoid that.

So, I'm suggesting add a new WHOIS item (as RPL_WHOISSPECIAL?), eg. 'cloakedhost', shown only when the cloaked host differs from the visible host. Like the other items, it would be configurable through 'set::whois-details'.
A reasonable default is probably 'self' + 'oper'. Networks that want chanops to see, can set 'everyone full'.

Current WHOIS of a user with a vhost (as a regular user):

  [TestNick] ([email protected]): TestNick
[TestNick] is identified for this nick
  [TestNick] #testchannel
  [TestNick] irc.network.example (IRC Network)
[TestNick] is using a Secure Connection
[TestNick] is logged in as TestNick
[TestNick] idle: 00 hours 07 minutes 08 seconds, signon at: Tue, 03 Nov 2026 22:05:16
  [TestNick] End of /WHOIS list.

What do you think?

Thanks
