| Summary | 0001042: Seeing client exiting snotice twice | ||||
| Description | I don't know if this is a bug or some kind of error happening on all of 3.1.6 or just mine but I am seeing the snotice for clients leaving the server twice whenever someone exits or leaves I see two instead of just one. [ 10:37:pm ] -irc.blah.net- *** Notice -- Client exiting: sfsdfoijh ([email protected]) [Quit: ] [ 10:37:pm ] -irc.blah.net- *** Notice -- Client exiting: sfsdfoijh ([email protected]) [Quit: ] | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | My other 4 opers are saying they see it twice aswell. | ||||
| 3rd party modules | |||||

Prolly this is a duplicate of another bug, but this one is at least clear and not in chinese. |

I hope this gets fixed quick because it is quite annoying and in some cases could flood pretty bad. How soon before we see a fix for this? edited on: 06-17-03 05:36 |

I'm seeing this also. Just upgraded today. [15:29] -buffie.foreverchat.net- *** Notice -- Client exiting: fmf ([email protected]) [Quit: ] - [15:29] -buffie.foreverchat.net- *** Notice -- Client exiting: fmf ([email protected]) [Quit: ] - As far as I can tell I don't have any modes set to myself that would cause me to see it twice (ie if I had the mode set to see network wide joins and parts). Just a minor annoyance, but if fixable without rebooting the IRCd I wouldn't mind knowing whats up...but I'm guessing I'll be rebooting my entire network later in the week :) |

Then it isn't just something happening on my copy of unrealircd. It can't be just because of user modes being used, because all of my other opers are saying that they are seeing this too. If you look at the modes being used they are about the same but the one at the bottom (which is me) is alittle more than the other two and still all 3 of us are seeing this. GMX is [email protected] * dunno GMX is a registered nick GMX is using modes +owghskAcfrxeWt GMX on @#Some-chan GMX using irc.blah.net IRC Server GMX is a Server Administrator GMX is available for help. Since my original report was closed, I'll add my problem here. =) 11:15:59 Client exiting: yvtzogtoey ([email protected]) [Connection reset by peer] 11:15:59 Client exiting: yvtzogtoey ([email protected]) [Connection reset by peer] 11:16:05 Client exiting: Hacker ([email protected]) [Connection reset by peer] 11:16:05 Client exiting: Hacker ([email protected]) [Connection reset by peer] 11:16:23 Client exiting: Swalk ([email protected]) [Connection reset by peer] 11:16:23 Client exiting: Swalk ([email protected]) [Connection reset by peer] Double quits. Annoying because you think there might be a problem and everyone's pinging out/dropping but it's only 1 or two people. |
same for me...this happened only after i changed to Unreal3.1.6 |
another thing i noticed: the double quits appears only on local client exiting notice, i mean i have the +F flag set so i can see all the client exit/connect of the entire network and i see double client exiting notice only on client on the server in which i'm admin. Another strange thing is that the quit reason is enclosed between [] when in the other notice is encloed between () Example: *** Notice -- Client exiting: stefano (ago@xxxxx) [Ping timeout] *** Notice -- Client exiting: stefano (ago@xxxxx) [Ping timeout] when the other notice are: *** Notice -- Client exiting at Some.Server.Net: poision!~poision@xxxxx (Ping timeout) Hope this will help |

FYI: 3.2* is the version we all code on, 3.1* is just maintained a bit for users not wanting to use 3.2, so only a few (security) bugfixes and stuff... That explains the delay / work on a fix :p. [Yeah I didn't want to add this bugnote but since ppl keep replying to this I just had to]. |
bah, i don't know how important whatever "fixes" were on 3.1.6 but that was getting too annoying and since you are saying that the 3.1 version isn't mainly coded on and that, that is the reason for the delay on this fix. I've already went back to 3.1.5.1 |
That's like the worst decission of all options, any user can crash your ircd now (and we see like 1-2 people [read: networks] a day asking why all of their [old] servers are suddenly crashing)... Anyway, *stop monitoring this bug* :p |
well, shouldn't there be a quick fix to this? i need to upgrade, and we would rather not use 3.2 |

Issue should theoretically be resolved in 3.1.7 beta. cvs -d :pserver:[email protected]:/home/cmunk/ircsystems/cvsroot login cvs -d :pserver:[email protected]:/home/cmunk/ircsystems/cvsroot checkout -r komara -d Unreal3.1.7b1 unreal to obtain. |
