* Loading IRCd configuration .. * unrealircd.conf:780: set::scan: WARNING: scanner support has been removed, use BOPM instead: http://www.blitzed.org/bopm/ (*NIX) / http://vulnscan.org/winbopm/ (Windows) Also i would like to add this server doubles as a terminal server(1 client only). I plan on removing the terminal services to see if it helps this problem. I've had terminal server mess up other applications i've tried to run. |

I removed terminal server and its the same news :(. Sometimes it happens even sooner though...the four hours is just a "usual" mark. It just recently crashed after about 1 hour 15 minutes |

I add'd the dont-resolve option that i read in one of the other bugposts. My server has been up for 8 hours now i will keep you informed. When ircd resovles hosts i'm assuming it uses the dns entries in the tcp/ip properties in win2k. I'm running my own dns server with forwarders to my isp's dns servers. I'll try switchign that out after the server is running for a couple of days and i'll remove the dont-resolve and i will keep you posted. edited on: 07-01-03 22:00 |

** Massclose of random windows crashes ** This is now explained at the bugs.unrealircd.org mainpage: Windows: there are multiple resolver bugs in the windows version which make it crash after a while.. usually after 1 or a few days. This is nothing new, that bug has been in windows versions for a looong time, if you want a stable ircd we suggest you to use *NIX. There's a workaround however: you can disable dns lookups for clients by putting the following in your unrealircd.conf: set { options { dont-resolve }; }; |
