| Description | when starting the ircd it will say it can't change to /where/you/installed/unreal strace showed it chdir'd /where/you/installed/unreal chrooted to /where/you/installed/unreal and then chdired /where/you/installed/unreal again reporting the error : ERROR: Unable to change to directory /where/you/installed/unreal sorry no logs, lost them when i fixed this (see below) | ||||

| Additional Information | found out what causes the problem too: in ircd.c line 1517 it sais : #ifndef CHROOT should be : #ifndef CHROOTDIR as CHROOTDIR is what is defined in the config.h (and used on other placed in the source) | ||||

Hm yeah.. In the meantime you could use "./" as ircd path and "src/ircd" as ircd binary path (in ./Config), that seems to work.. also don't forget to enable IRC_UID / IRC_GID since root in a chroot is not a good idea. I assume here that you will start the ircd as root, and won't set it suid or something, coz then the ./ path would be dangerous of course. |
