| Summary | 0001151: Server trying to link after link block is gone. | ||||
| Description | One of my servers got disconnected and I discontinued the service, but it was still trying to reconnect to that server. I took the server out of the link block and rehashed and it was STILL trying to connect saying "no response" over and over. The only way I was able to stop it was to use our services to "jupe"(create a fake instance of a server to prevent linking) the server and then squit it. It would not stop trying to link to a server that was no longer in the link block. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Link to a server, let it disconnect and then begin trying to reconnect. Then remove server from link block and rehash. | ||||

Sounds like the server you disconnected still has it's CN (Server) Lines. Which means it will continue to try to link untill the offending server removes them. |

No, the other server was not even up anymore and no longer even had that ip address. It was not trying to connect to me. My server was trying to connect to _it_. |
go back and make sure u do not have more then 1 link to it |
What do you mean? The server was linked only to me. The server was then removed. My server was still trying to connect to it even after a removal from my link.conf and a rehash. The error messages about not being able to connect to the server were coming from _my_ server. |
Remove the 'autoconnect' flag from the link::options blocks. |
cyberclown, the entire link block was gone, including the autoconnect flag. I removed the entire link block for the server and I rehashed my server but it kept trying to connect to the server that no longer existed. |

Can you paste what you are receiving? Might help us to see what's occurring and allow the others to help you. |
Yeah, if it's true then maybe it's some timing issue, a paste and/or some info about your connect frequency could help. Another question, did you try to rehash a few times after that to see if it helps? (I assume you did...) |

This might be fixed in CVS/will be in 3.2.1. We'll see :). If it happens again with those versions, let us know :) |
