Nope no idea. Other users have also reported negative counts for usercounts and unknown connections IIRC.. it's weird. Problem is it's difficult to trace down and usually when someone notices it they have no idea what caused it. Do you have any idea? It could be something with SVS* commands (speculation), do you use services (commands) which do something with opers? (SVSNOOP, SVSMODE/SVS2MODE, ..). Ofcoz this is just a minor issue, but still weird ;). |

Well only thing happening lately is that we have had a testlink that can't keep a stable connection. And i talked to someone else about it and he remembered hearing something about the sync of the servers causing problems like this. I can try and look into it deeper. |

Just to inform you, I also had this problem before (-17 operators), but don't know why it was happened. I forgot to send a bugreport, sorry. Ah, missed to tell something: beta17 (1.1857) And I didn't compiled /svslusers at all. edited on: 08-01-03 07:38 |

I once had this problem and I couldn't figure out why. Then, I started looking at user modes in /helpop ?umodes and saw this: H = Hide IRCop status in /WHO and /WHOIS. (IRC Operators only) I had svsmoded services +H This is before I +H'ed services: - - - - - - - There are 8 users and 23 invisible on 3 servers 3 operator(s) online 7 channels formed I have 16 clients and 2 servers - - - - - - - Current Local Users: 16 Max: 30 Current Global Users: 31 Max: 48 - - - - - - - And this is after I +H'ed services: - - - - - - - There are 8 users and 23 invisible on 3 servers -4 operator(s) online 7 channels formed I have 16 clients and 2 servers - - - - - - - Current Local Users: 16 Max: 30 Current Global Users: 31 Max: 48 - - - - - - - I can't say for sure if this is the cause of all or even this certain problem just remember though that +H doesn't have to be svsmoded onto someone so that it can hide the oper status/count any oper can manually set it. |

So then the problem was even before this. But, it could of course be related in some way to +H. I looked at the +H stuff in the source and played a bit but couldn't find anything bad.. So.. blah ;). |

Added some debugcode in CVS (.1908), if a negative opercount is reached it will send an opernotice (and log it). ([BUG] operator count bug! blahblahblah please report to UnrealIRCd team at http://bugs.unrealircd.org/) |
