| Description | A possibility to add a bad(spam)word to the badwords list like u can with /dccdeny would be great as we recently get flooded by spambots wich show new spamaddys so. As these addys r not in the badword.configs yet everyone can get spammed. Unfortunatly our admins r not often online so if an oper could just add them temp like they can with dccdeny that would be great | ||||
| Additional Information | This will be called "spamfilter"... will have a /spamfilter command with various actions (block/kill/gline/shun/..)... will use TKL to synch between servers. Also spamfilter blocks will be possible in the conf to have local spamfilter configuration (which might be nice until services will integrate something to manage the spamfilter list.. something I'll look into after it's all done). | ||||

Global Badword support? That would be fine. Well, it's on codemastr's todo list, maybe it will be added ;) A hint: For this SpamBots, I use "set::modes-on-connect "+R"; So this spambots can't privmsg anyone by default. Not really a good solution, but it works. |

Yeah we know about +R only like u implied...not everyone has a regged nick...so those wouldnt be able to msg anyone or enter a channel thats set +R (would be great if everyone registered tho..lol). But great to hear that its on the todo list, ty :) |

yeah a global badwords system is in todo... the idea is to always block (strip?) those global badwords so it won't have anything to do with +G. Anyway, it's only an idea/'todo item' atm :p. |

The way we do this is to have 'master' files on an accessable http server. These are the files that are actually updated by someone. There is a script located in the Unreal dir on each server which 1) backs up the current files 2) retrieves the new files from the http server and 3) rehash's the ircd. The script is called from cron every so often (ours is set for 6 hours). Just a thought... |

Will start coding on the anti-ads/global badwords system soon... should be finished within a few weeks (it all depends on lots of other factors [non-unrealircd stuff] so could be either 4 days or 17 ;p). As said earlier, we really would like to have this in next release :). |

Ok I'm at 70% now... most internal stuff has been done, which means nothing works yet but it shouldn't take much time anymore. Anyway, I'll have to work on some other more important stuff now.... |
