| Summary | 0001333: Connection time / Idle time in Whois | ||||
| Description | I noticed that the Connection time and Idle time is not shown if you whois someone on a different server. I think this would be a great thing to add if possible. | ||||

Idle time is a local info, if you want to get that, type /whois <servername> <nick>, where <servername> is the server <nick> is connected to. |
And to make this possible either of the following would have to happen: 1) each time the person sends a PRIVMSG, all servers would need to be updated with the fact that they had sent a privmsg. this wastes heaps of bandwidth that could be used better elsewhere. 2) each time someone performs a /whois on someone on a remote server, the remote server would have to be contacted to get the idle time. Meaning that it would lag and you might not get this till after a whois is finished. so really both are impractical ... connection time could/would be possible - but as both go hand in hand, i both see the use. stick to irc convention, as angrywolf pointed out. |

Or just type /whois <nick> <nick> |
Correct, this won't happen. Just use /whois nick nick (I've that under a /w alias because I use it often). |
