| Summary | 0001336: new +f mode | ||||
| Description | i`d presum this mite use up exra CPU usage but, i duno im not the coders, the new +f modes set +i on a join flood and +N on a nickname flood etc etc, could it be possible to make the server preform a " kill " on the flooders? and leave it open to ircops / opers to set it? just thought it would be nice if that could exist it would cut down the floods more, the servers seem to handle floods with no prob where as mircs and addons ( which im forever making ) have a rate of failing which is very high thru lag or lack of connection speeds. id understand if it wasnt possible 8) | ||||

Unfortunately no, the +f flood system uses the "global aproach" rather than a "per-user-floodcontrol" aproach, therefore it will count both normal users and floodbots, therefore there can be no distinction between good and bad people. > the servers seem to handle floods with no prob where as mircs > and addons ( which im forever making ) have a rate of failing > which is very high thru lag or lack of connection speeds. Yes, that's exactly why the new +f was implemented, to prevent this from happening :). |
