| Summary | 0001407: Server / channel watch / reporter? | ||||
| Description | i have noticed, all servers seem to have a " steady / common " number of people in channels ie, the busiest channel never has no more than 1000 people. for example, Would it be possible to have the server report a notice to opers if a channel gets more than 100, as when a bot net gets loaded onto the server, they would surely break this number and it would alert opers ( that are active ) of a possible gathering of bots, i ask becoz i had this problem today, did a /list everythings normall, and not 5mins later i refresh and i find a channel on +su with 516 people in it, and we never hit more than 150 in the most used room, so it was clearly bots, but i had to /list to do it, can sumthing be done?? | ||||

This might be useful to you, but it would be very annoying for those people who do have numerous channels with more than 100 people. |
would it be possible to have a setting so the oper may enter just a number, so for me it would be 200, while another server may set it @ 1000. |
To be honest, I still find it a bit silly :p. |
well okie, then can someone make a module out of it please? rather than make it standard.. least then if someone wants it they can get it thru a module :) |
Sure........ $50 will do No seriously... coding a module is just as much work (actually even more) than coding it in a module, so why would I do that then :)). |

well atm, i got a mirc on a shell doing a /list every 20secs or so and then taking the results from the numeric and that does the job of what i wish to be added, just thought it would be nice coz then as i said, should an excessive number of people or bots join a channel the server can warn of possible bots. which would be handy coz u know, not every1 can keep an eye out. if the busiest room never has more than 200. and you set it for 250, then it`ll never alarm unless the room is filled withbots, if the max number is variable, then should the server popualirty increase opers can set the max number higher too. is it really silly? O_o - $50 im in Scotland lol £40 or sumthing? |

yeah well.. I dunnow, it's just weird... "this option allows you to send a warning if more than..." uhh ;p. |
