the server that im on is having a lot of problems atm, the problem is actually ddos, althou its more of a shell side coz they arnt filtered, ( which we are moving into filtered shells ) we also wish to hide how the servers are linked so that they dont see where the hub is and the main leafs, and also which server has the most people connecting / connected to it. Should the shell filters not be enuff, we would hope hiding the servers stats or positions in the links would help us to stay up with more of a chance as in the end, if tey didnt see the hub and main leafs, we can manipulate the dns to point to the non so esstinal servers. With the map and links showing, they just target and DNS the servers name for the ip and then target the leafs..

It does NOT increase security. But let me give another hint: give your hubs non-eixsting hostnames [me {} block] and use IP's (or some other host) for linking. That way users cannot get the IP of your hubs. All other things are flawed (example: splits, whois, whowas, ANY msg from a remote server, remote commands with masks, who, etc etc...). And hiding public servers (leafs) is just silly.
