| Summary | 0001433: services hide | ||||
| Description | When writing my services, i often find it hard to work around the usermode +x .. when the user tries to mode +x, only let them if they are already +r.. but dont change their host.. let services handle that so they can set username.users.network.com or whatever.. of course, every network wont want this, so itd be a good idea to provide an option in the conf | ||||

This could already easily be handled by services and I see no reason to add special code to Unreal for it. if MODE +x set, if not +r, set -x else, SVSHOST to username.users.network.com I don't see why we need to add anything special. |

wastes bandwidth for people abusing it, could lag services, less spam in the users stats window, whatever.. i just think itd be good to include in the server itself.. |

As codemastr says, this is already possible. You could use set::restrict-usermodes "x", not setting it in modes-on-connect, and set such a host on-identify (which seems logical), if they want it after that they can use some other services command.. On a sidenote, I don't see any valid reason to deny +x, but as you can see you can do it. [Rejected. Creating a new bugreport about this will not help.] |
