| Description | To add the ability for the server to report which channel was denied when you try to join a +O or +A room without priviliges (or use /invite on a +V room). | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Add an additional %s to the corresponding entry in the s_err.c file and recompile and restart the ircd. Then the server will now report the name of the channel for +O/+A/+V room error messages. | ||||

Oh ummm i put the info on what to do to add this in the wrong spot, its in the "Steps to reproduce" not the "additional info", so i'll repeat it here... Adding an additional %s to the parameter line of the numeric error in s_err.c in the corresponding section for +O/+A/+V can give the server the ability to tell you which channel you were denied entry. |

Oh yeah, also if u enable this, dont forget ur increasing the chances of flood notices 8D so hope they come upw ith a way to prevent a mass notice flood ;) |

how would that flood shaun? you get a message anyway, now it just tells the user which channel. Before: Zell :Cannot join channel (Admin only) After: Zell :Cannot join channel #AdminChat (Admin Only) nothing about flooding.... it would be the user flooding themselves, d'uh |

and if u get a botnet say 100 - 50,000 trying to join the channel?? that wont give a flood huh ;) really, why do u wanna know who trys to join the +O +A channels, as logn as they dont get in,? and who trys to walk thru +V - incase u havent read zell, OPS can invite thru +V now, so it kinda flattens out this bug note ;) edited on: 2004-02-25 15:35 |

uhhh again shaun, the fix does -NOT- send a notice for the rooms, it just changes the existing RAW error message given to a user. Has nothing to do with IRCop overrides of +V.... |

Done in .2147. White_Magic: this about making numeric 518/519/520 a bit more clear by mentioning the channelname in them. Like "Cannot join channel (Admin only)" to "Cannot join channel #test (Admin only)" |
