| Summary | 0001645: Force Messages | ||||
| Description | On another IRC Network I frequent, service admins have a slew of commands available to them that involve forcing commands through the server. The commands involve the expected join and part (already implemented via SAJOIN/SVSJOIN and SAPART/SVSPART) and also forced text messages (including possibly CTCPs). The command they use is fsay and faction: FSAY <chan> <from> :<msg> FACTION <chan> <from> :<msg> These commands allow a service admin to make any message appear as though it were sent from another (possibly non-existant) user. The only difference between FSAY and FACTION is that the text in FACTION is sent as a CTCP ACTION (/me). This network also allows non-service admins to use lesser version (NPC and NPCA) which enclose the name in splatmarks. How strict you are in the format of <from> is up to you, but the network I refer to seems to have very loose rules in terms of nicknames (you can have mIRC format codes in it!). | ||||
| Additional Information | The network I am referring to if you want to see this for yourself: Valhalla.Caelestia.Net (DNS alias elysium.caelestia.net) Eternity.Caelestia.Net Aurora.Caelestia.Net | ||||
