| Description | I've encountered an issue where if you gline a masked IP, (has is done is done by scripts) the masked IP does not back resolve to the real IP like the room bans do. Look at this. This is my test subject.. His IP does not resolve. To protect the innocnet, I've XXX'd his IP where it would normaly show. ««Notice»» /whois list for: kedrin ««Notice»» Address: [email protected] «« Unknown »» ««Notice»» Name: FalseGod ««Notice»»kedrin is connecting from *@64.32.235.XXX Now we place our first gline.. and nothing happens. that masked IP coms vrom usermode +x but if you set a gline to example /gline nick that wil gline the user olso? with that ip 'i think' |

the /gline nick will ban the full IP without allowing the usage of wildcards.. not usefull in our dynamic IP world. |

mm buth if you are an ircop you sie the ip olso so if you want the use wildcars you can sie it? and example /gline *@*123 |

*lines should be placed on real hosts/ips (for [g]zlines even only ips), so not on anything virtual like mode +x (cloaking), vhosts, etc. Besides making it a lot more confusing 'hmm is ip 1.2.3.4 banned or not?' it's not the main reason... it would also be slower to check yet-another-field * AMOUNT_OF_*LINES. |
