| Description | although both servers are compiled with ziplinks, the connect only works one way. ie a debian server can establish the connection to the windows one, but the windows one cant creat the connection to the debian one | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1. setup unrealircdRC 3.2 hotfix on windows server 2003 2. setup unrealircd RC 3.2 hotfix on debian [both include zlib, ssl .] 3. set them to link to each other 4. try to extablish connection from the windows machine, it will fail saying no matching link block. | ||||

do you link with just zip or zip+ssl? Coz I've had SSL fun before on debian, and heard others with ssl problems too (non-debian).. so I would suggest looking at that first (try with just ziplinks without ssl). Anyway, I cannot reproduce it here with: 1. ssl | ssl+zip | zip | ssl, tried all 4 combo's from win -> Linux. 2. w2k Unreal3.2 recent cvs (pre1) [this uses the new zlib 1.2.1 while rc2 and before use 1.1.4] 3. Linux Debian testing/unstable, relevant dpkg --list grep's: ii zlib1g 1.2.1-5 compression library - runtime ii zlib1g-dev 1.2.1-5 compression library - development ii libssl-dev 0.9.7d-1 SSL development libraries, header files and ii libssl0.9.6 0.9.6l-1 SSL shared libraries (old version) ii libssl0.9.7 0.9.7d-1 SSL shared libraries Also, you never mentioned the error you received (preferably from both sides). If you use SSL it's worth to set yourself +s +j (=junk snomask) to get verbose errors. the pre1 win cvs build is available from http://www.vulnscan.org/UnrealIrcd/win_cvs_build.html |

This is a configuration error, your link block is not ok, see the documentation on the link block and the FAQ (note that link::hostname is verified for incomming connections). |
