Summary0001787: Default motd doesn't appear with using TLD blocks when I have a host with an undefined tld
DescriptionI'm an admin of a Hungarian chat, and I made some tld blocks for non-Hungarian users. For example: for *.us host get people an English motd and rules.
I edited the motd and rules files, and I rehashed all configuration files. Currently the default motd doesn't appear, when I'm connecting with my Hungarian (*.hu) host. Before I rehashed the config files, the default motd appeared, when I connected. (*.hu hasn't got tld block)
Maybe this is a bug. Or is this my fault? Do I configured the server not well?

I cannot reproduce that here (tested). Make sure you didn't accidently delete ircd.motd somehow (?). I dunnow...

What exactly do you get? 'MOTD File is missing'? Or do you get the US motd?

I get this:

There are 32 users and 23 invisible on 3 servers
16 operator(s) online
1 unknown connection(s)
30 channels formed
I have 38 clients and 2 servers
-
Current Local Users: 38 Max: 56
Current Global Users: 55 Max: 74
-
Message of the Day, irc.founders.hu
End of /MOTD command.

The /motd command works well, when I use it, I can see the default motd correctly.
The ircd.mod file is okay, I just checked it. It is 11.15 pm here, but I can post tomorrow a copy of my config file without passwords.

I uploaded the config, that we're using.

I forgot to tell, I wanted to make an ircd.smotd. I wrote the file, rehashed all files, but then I got also this:

Current Local Users: 21 Max: 62
Current Global Users: 39 Max: 80
-
Message of the Day, irc.founders.hu
End of /MOTD command.

Then I deleted the ircd.smotd, and rehashed once more all config files. After this got I the problem, the default ircd.motd doesn't appear.

I'm still unable to reproduce this.

I tried your config.tar.. my host is <something>.testnet and is obviously not matched by tld entries and I *do* see a MOTD when connecting or executing /MOTD.

If you get different results then I suggest trying without those 25 3rd party modules (just commands.so and a coak module), see if that changes anything.

You're right, that was my fault. I do apologize. This bug needs to be closed.
