| Description | It would be quite nice if it would be possible to set a global oper on a hub and with this he oper can oper up himself on the other ircds on the network aswell without setting up a new oper block on the other ircds. | ||||

Problems: 1) How would you instruct the IRCd that you are opering on a different server? 2) How would the different server notify you of success, since it cannot simply set you +o? 3) It's probably done quite frequently, that opers have different access levels on different servers. For example, a server admin would have server admin access on his own server, and global oper status on all others. edited on: 2004-07-01 12:22 |

use remote includes? this idea seems silly... there are reasons why opers would be local to one server but if you want, remote includes will do it... |

What if an adminstrator doesn't want that particular globop to oper on his/her server? |

If an admin doesn't want a particular user you might be able to set it in the local conf that this oper is not allowed globops on that server. |

Which then defeats the purpose. |

This is the reason why remote includes were added. So you can have configuration that is available on all servers. I see no reason to implement a messy mechanism to do it another way when this already exists. |
