Summary0002028: WebTV
DescriptionI was wondering how many people actually use WebTV, and if it's really necessary for UnrealIRCD to support it. Is it even called "WebTV" anymore? I don't know anyone that has it, let alone uses IRC on it.

There are hundreds, possibly thousands of WebTV users that use IRC. I know of a couple of networks that consist almost exclusively of WebTV users. But even if there were only a handful, I don't really see a reason to remove WebTV support, it's not like it is hurting anyone.

WebTV/MSN TV currently holds a userbase of over 3 million users, It might have even passed over that number, Within the next few months Microsoft is releasing a new box called MSN TV 2 Which will come loaded with WindowsCE and broadband capabilities, this will certainly increase the number of MSN TV users for sure. Let's hope the IRC support on that box will improve too :)

Well if it has WinCE, I'd assume you can run any WinCE IRC client on it, right?

codemastr I suspect so too, But Im not sure, I have not had the opportunity to be accepted for the beta program, but Im sure with a real OS loaded MSN TV will be a lot better.
