| Description | The censoring (channel mode +G) has not been working for some time. It leaves the "badwords" completely un-changed. I believe it has been broken (on my network) since 3.2 and also doesn't work in 3.2.1 The badwords file contains all the words i want censored out (have not changed the file since it used to work as far as i know). There are no errors or warnings on ircd startup. This has been tested not to work on multiple channels. My network is linked via 4 servers, all running 3.2.1. The ircd has remainded un-modified. i have one module loaded, the bopm-helper module. | ||||

Could you paste your badwords blocks (or a few)? Since obviously +G has been working in all versions you mentioned, it's not like +G hasn't been working for half a year and nobody noticed............ lol :P. |

I'm sure it's been working on other ppl's ircd. Hmm, have you had other users check this from their end?? The "<censored>" text won't appear locally. |

Hm, how are you checking it? Of course the person TYPING the text won't see it replaced, since that's just how IRC works and is unavoidable. Any other persons (query: other person, channel: any other channel member) will see it properly replaced however. |

i know i wont see it, cos the ircd does not send me my text back. I sit in a channel and watch dozens of ppl using these badwords and none of them appear as <censored>. I've checked with others (ircops and users) and they don't see the <censored> either. This may seem like a stupid question (and if this is the problem then sorry for me not realising). But in the documentation for 3.2 it says about the Badword block, then in brackets it says that badwords.*.conf is the old way of doing it. Does that mean that the badword block has to go in the unrealircd.conf? and if not, then does unrealircd.conf need an include for badwords.channel.conf, or does it look there automatically anyway? unrealircd.conf is the configuration file, no other conf file is loaded automatically or something (ok, except for motd/rules, but no conf..). So it's not like Unreal3.1.* or something.... :P. On a sidenote, the example file does in fact include it (since when, I don't know). |
