UMode +p will not hide common channels. You might want to make sure the user whoising you is not on the same channels that you are. |
im a ircop on a server, a server where only ircops can connect too coz it is password protected.
If Damien is an oper, he will see all your channels. Otherwise, it is likely what Bugz said. |

All depends on your modes Im a netadmin on the same network, A Girl whois me didnt see where i was maybe it depends on wha level you are. girl and me were in the same channel. |

yes bugz im aware of that, but i was under the impression that +p hide channels regradless (unless oper) - if a user is on the channel as me im sure they are aware without needing to /whois me, also if damien decided to paste my whois somewhere then the +p loses its purpose as its still pasting channels im common with when i didnt want any channels to be shown at all... <user1> hey lets flood a room <user2> sounds great, which room shall we flood <user1> hmm lets flood #curadio <Damien> but there is an ircop in #CUradio <user1> how do you know, when i whois him i cant see which channels hes in <Damien> well i whois him and i see hes in 3 channels <user2> huh <user1> so how come u cna see but we cant <Damien> im on the same channels as him so they appear in his whois <user1> pft whats the point in him making it hide his channels if people can see them anyway?! edited on: 2004-11-05 12:23 |

Well I'm not going to change it. This is how +p works on every IRCd I've ever seen it on, and changing it only leads to confusion. "I see NICK in #chan but /whois says he isn't!!!" |
