Summary | 0002304: Feature Request - Connect to Alternate Hub
Description | I run a network with 8 leaves and 2 hubs (total of 10 servers). The USA servers are linked to the USA hub, and the Europe servers are linked to a Europe hub in the UK. The network structure is like this: New York -> US Hub Chicago -> US Hub Tampa -> US Hub Australia -> US Hub London Leaf -> UK Hub Netherlands -> UK Hub Germany -> UK Hub Norway -> UK Hub Sometimes one of the hubs goes down for an unexpected reason. My feature request is for the Unreal leaves to be able to connect to an alternate hub automatically. Say the UK hub goes down in the middle of the night when nobody is around. Unreal would try to reconnect to that hub a couple times automatically to make sure that it wasn't just a small network hiccup. If it still did not receive a reponse or positive link after [X] number of times, it would try the alternative hub defined in the configuration file. I think this would be a very handy and useful feature to have. I have no problem doing it the manual way via /connect, it's just that alot of the times the trouble seems to happen in the middle of the night, meaning I'm either sleeping here in the USA, or my Europe admins are at work. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
