Summary0002305: Spamfilter + helpop <-> helpop allow (?)
DescriptionSpamfilter currently doesnt support / cover the helpop system, i can partly understand why since a regex could affect a /helpop message when a user is needing help, however, users / bots can & DO use helpop as a way of flooding / spamming using the ignore command (which is undocumented) for 100-10000 bots isnt very smart or fun for that matter.... i think the spamfilter Should ONLY Block matching regexs to the helpop system, the target " h " (an example)" should be on its own as well, this way there is no way a regex can be used for other targets as well as helpop.

The Spamfilter is ment to stop (Abuse) users spamming / sending trojans / viruses etc, its also used to stop login to botnets etc and even used for floods on many networks, /helpop is another way users can use to prefrom a flood wihtout being " stopped " by a system, the spamfilter should also be able to block / influence the helpop system, since it IS open to the users to use it can also be Abused, the spamfilter should be able to stop this " abuse " since it is already stopping abuse in other forms...

 There aren't any ways to spamfilter helpops... I once made a suggestion on the bug tracker, and it didn't gotoo well. The best choices you have are the ones in my previous post.

Ok, maybe the spamfilter helpop idea has been rejected before, then consider some kinda " allow " system for helpop stopping users / bots doing this...

/helpop you f*(^^)g IRCOPS suck a*"*"£*"

or options when u compile to turn "forward helpop to ircops" on or off, just some kind of control.

Not sure if it's mentioned there, but we are thinking about removing helpop (well, not that umode itself or the whole command, but the thing that /HELPOP sometext gets sent to helpops etc :P).. AFAIK it's rarely used (I know of nobody at least).
