So instead of "missing cloak module" or "missing commands module" or "missing <some other thing here>" they'll now complain about "Hey, idiot, edit your confs properly".
If anything, they really only need to be shoved into example.conf, since that really isn't meant for live use anyway. The fact that unrealircd.conf doesn't exist at first (until they either stupidly cp docs/example.conf unrealircd.conf or just make one from scratch like a good admin) is already a sort of "die line". |

true, at first it will cause more traffic. But you have to take into account that if you put dielines in both sample.config and a sample .network config, it would eventually cause people to 1) write a config from scratch which is a good thing or 2) read more carefully when they're editing it.
We really do need something to keep the idiots more careful about what they do, but yeah, it shouldnt be that hard to reimplement. also as someone said, change the stop code in each release so they dont know where exactly to go |

Is this something we'll actually do? If so, it seems like a small enough change that we can get on it. |

I think the amount of "die lines" is sufficient right now. We have a decent level of people actually editing the confs compared to many years ago. |
