I normally allow some discussion on a feature suggestion but in this particular case I'm closing it already. I don't think not sending the message is a good idea because the 'is now your displayed host' message (RPL_HOSTHIDDEN) is a numeric that informs the client of his/her new host. So it's not just for the (human) end-user but also for the IRC client which can use this information for whatever purpose. One thing that comes to mind is so the client knows that if someone sets a ban in a channel it can tell if it matches you (and takes action). Feel free to suggest other features of course. Don't let me stop you :D |
