| Description | I think that a good idea is to have aliases where instead of pointing to just a nickname or services, it should be able to point to a channel also. Such as if I want help, and type: /request-help <message>, it will show up in the channel #HelpDesk. | ||||

But what if you are not in #helpdesk, what good does it do then? |

Just won't do anything. :)) Yes, the problem is difficult, because users would better get a response too if the message was sent or not, and if sent, how many users received it. :) Like on chessclub.com :) A little bit useless, but dunno... |

Wel the way I'm thinking is, if you are on #helpdesk are you going to take the time to type "/request-help I need help" instead of just typing "I need help"? I know I wouldn't... |

Hmm.. "Just won't do anything" --> no, it's not what I wanted to say, I think helpers will answer privately :), or make the user join (like an invite only channel? Oops, bad...:-D) Sometimes it's OK to force private messaging when sending sensitive information, but when targetting particularly a help channel, because more people can give help more effectively. And as I know, there is already a /helpop command which sends a message to all helpers (of course, not in a channel). It's hard to figure the purposes of this feature, it would be much helpful if PoisonDart316 anwered this question. |

here's a purpose: user sends /something lalala, it appears in a bot channel, where bots come and go, all bots see request but only one responses, if bot disconnects next one picks up until bot is back and responsing. so this is like for dynamic nicknames. |

Umm well if that is the purpose that the original author intended, then no it will not be added. So if I don't hear from the original author soon, this is not going to be added. |

Ok the purpose is, instead of using /helpop <question>, there should be an extra feature in aliases where I can type /help, and then ym question and it will show up in a help channel, so one of the supporters can pm the person privately and help them. Each command that a user types could be directed to different help channels, instead of using helpop which shows up in notices, and half my opers dont pay attention to notices. So to sum it up, aliases should be added so that i can set different commands to point to different channels so they can be helped. |

There is a flaw to your logic, 99.99% of channels are +n, therefore users outside the channel can not send to the channel anyway. |
