Summary | 0006200: \x04 replaced in websocket module?
Description | 06:05 < Talon> is there a way to modify which characters get replaced within the websocket module? \x04 becomes \ufffd and many clients (AdiIRC, TheLounge, IRCCloud, etc...) use this to denote a control code for HexColor similar to \x03 which currently isn't replaced.

Both 0x03 and 0x04 show up in the websocket text data in wireshark, proves that we are sending it perfectly fine as-is. Cannot reproduce. I'm changing this bug to "feedback". If we don't get details and contact information of the original reporter in the next 7 days then I'll close this since everything looks fine and there is nothing that can be done at this point. |

They use it for hex colors, to be specific: https://modern.ircdocs.horse/formatting.html#hex-color |

Person quit the channel one or a few hours after mentioning in the channel that we could not reproduce, and also this bug URL was shown. No further followups and unable to reproduce by two persons. Assuming user error for now, or at least nothing actionable is possible. Closing. |
