Summary | 0006313: Support Channel Fantasy Aliases in core
Description | Currently to get channel fantasy alias commands, you have to rely on a 3rd party module. This functionality should be offered in the core via the core aliases.c module. This would allow you to make simple fantasy commands that can make setting/un-setting extbans easier. Channel fantasy aliases are supported in Insp's core alias module, no 3rd party required.

I agree. Sometimes users are confused on how to use extbans such as ~forward where wee need to "/mode #channel +b ~forward:#badisp:*!*@*.isp.xx". If we had an alias, we could use something like "/FORWARD #badisp *!*@*.isp.xx" which is easier to remember. |

I really don't want to go that route. You use commands to interface with the IRCd. This is something that is perfectly as a third party module, and in fact, there already is one apparently. (As for PeGaSuS: he means in-channel commands where you msg in a channel certain things like !xyz and the ircd then takes certain actions) |
