| Summary | 0000808: Process Terminates Randomly | ||||
| Description | The process sometimes just VANISHES. All the users connected drop and are unable to reconnect since the daemon isn't running. I running off a fresh Win2K install, so there's no software conflict. It's possible that it's someone attacking a vulnerability, as this is a leaf to a larger network. I'm not sure how to gather more information to help track this down. =( | ||||

It just happened again, and I noticed that the process spikes to 100% CPU for a few seconds before the crash. |

Ok, is there a .core file in the Unreal folder? If so please attach it to this bug report. Also, are you running Unreal as an NT service or not? |
I get that also, but there's no core file when installed as service. My ircd crashes every 20mins-1hr. |
I have no core file. Running as a service. Now, as soon as I start my IRCD, it immediately takes 100% cpu, runs for about 3-5 minutes, then dies. |

I used to have this same problem. I am running BSD and the problem appeared to be related to the compilation of the ircd. If you compiled as a hub and tried to run as a leaf, this would occur, and vise versa. It happened to all the servers on the net, if for example the hub goes down and a leaf tries to act as hub, it will automatically kill the process as soon as the primary hub returns. Now we run all the servers as half-hubs and have not had the problem. This is a problem in beta 15 only from what i have seen. There is no core file or any other information related to this issue, it just sends out a kill command for the process. |

I am running the precompiled versions (CVS) for windows. |
