Summary | 0000815: [W] /restart doesn't work, get a weird msgbox
Description | my beta15 crashes when restarting, with two messages in the box: "UnrealIRCD/32 - Usage: wircd [-h servername] [-p portnumber] [-x loglevel]" and, after click OK, "UnrealIRCD Initialization error - UnrealIRCD has been failed to initialize in InitWIRCD()"

If you want unreal to restart with the /restart command you must have it installed as a service, and with the option "Restart the service if it crashes" |
Bug already reported in 0000402 |
Yes, but this bug sounds more like it's fucking program arguments up (???), don't know why else you could get this usage message. |
Unable to reproduce here (at beta16). The thing just restarts like it should do. |
I get the same thing he Described above with beta 16. By simply double clicking wircd. I've always seen this problem, sence beta 14. I thought the restarting of wircd was intended to be done by nt services. On my win32 server I have it installed as a nt service, it restarts fine like that(for me anyways). When "/restat <pw>" is gave wircd terminates then the services manager restarts the service. |

And another bugreport about it, 0001186 (reported by doiwl): <paste> == Description == the /restart function cannot be used... when we use the /restart function on the irc client, the following msg will appear: Usage: wircd [-h servername][-p portnumber][-x loglevel] UnrealIRCD had failed to initialize in InitwIRCD() == steps to reproduce == open the unrealircd use the /restart function on the irc client == additional bugnote == i got that msg when i am not installing it as a service.. when i installed it as a service, it still cannot restart. Last time I used Unreal3.2-beta13 + Win XP Home Edition SP1, don't have this bug. (Note: now i am using Win XP Home Edition (not SP1)) edited on: 08-11-03 15:27 </paste> |

We were never able to reproduce this... I wonder if it has been fixed in the past 9 months or so... If not then we'll hear soon enough :p. |
