| Summary | 0000994: New channel type (&) | ||||
| Description | I've seen this on many servers and it's pretty interesting. Instead of only having #channel, you could add a new channel type that starts with the & character, what this would significate is that the channel is only available on the server the person is currently on (local channel). For large networks the advantage of this is the fact that you can restrict help channels making them less populated and easier to moderate. For example, each server linked in the network would have it's own &help channel. | ||||

My bad this should be in the IRCD Category. |

This isn't a new idea, Unreal had & channels (and + channels) for years... but no one used them, therefore they were removed. All they did was add extra processing slowing stuff down; they were never used. |
