Summary0001231: About the channel mode +u
DescriptionHi,
I'm using unrealircd 3.2-beta17 on my network.
I have 2 questions (probably bugs):

1) About the channel mode +u , if a user joins a channel that I'm already in "which is +u" and

that user is connected from another server, I can see him! (even though I'm not an oper or +o in

that channel). in the other hand, if that user is connected from the same server that I'm using, I

can't see him (in the channel nick list), is this bug? I think it is supposed from unrealircd to

hide any user in a +u channel no matter what server it's using as long he is not +o in that

channel. !!!

2) Addition to the mentioned problem/bug, this is another one; also related to the channel mode +u

, let me give you an example to explain the situation:
------------
* connect using the nick "xx1"
1. join #example wich got mode +u and you are normal user(not oper or +o),now idle in it.

------------
* connect with another nick (xx2) (any linked server of the network but not the same server you are

on )
1. join #example normal user
2. now quit/disconnect
------------

From 1. & 2. (nick: xx1) you will see a nick who joined (nick: xx2) but you won't be able to see

him quitting!! and the nick will stell be on the channel nicklist even though you quit xx2 and when

you do whois on him it will say "xx2 No such nick/channel"!!!

Brief Descriptions of the problems/bugs: if you joined in a +u channel (without being as an oper or

a +o in that channel) you will not see users who joins from the same server of the one you are

using, but if that user was connecting using another server, you will see him joining in but you

will not see him if he quit/disconnect , note that if you are an ircop or +o in that specific

channel, everything works fine (you will see users who joins and quit) it only happens when you are

a normal user. I think it is a bug, normal users shouldn't be able to see anyone who joins as

normal user in a +u channel from the first place!

That's all, Regards,

Hi,
I think all of these bugs are fixed in current CVS (bugreport 0001097 ).
If you want the CVS version then have a look at the CVS instructions at http://www.vulnscan.org/UnrealIrcd/faq/#25
