| Description | The IRCD crashes without any apparent reason, i have tried to check the log file, and i have tried to use the gdb to get more information, i am not sure if this is the right information though: Core was generated by `ircd'. Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault. Reading symbols from /usr/lib/libcrypt.so.2...done. Reading symbols from /usr/lib/libz.so.2...done. Once gdb loads, you must type bt |

I think you forgot to recompile your (3rd party) modules after the upgrade :). |
i did compile them, should i remove the modules directory totally and recompile ? |
ls -al src/modules/m_antidccbug.so src/modules/commands.so [etc] and check the dates :p But yeah, you could also just remove them and recompile... |
here is the information i get from my other box which did not have the modules on it to start with, this box is Redhat 9: #0 0x08090fe5 in SnomaskDel (sno=0x0) at umodes.c:339 #1 0x40093b54 in Mod_Unload (module_unload=0) at remotenick.c:124 #2 0x08067ed8 in Unload_all_loaded_modules () at modules.c:321 #3 0x080725bd in init_conf (rootconf=0x8098e33 "unrealircd.conf", rehash=1) at s_conf.c:1403 #4 0x0807cd94 in rehash (cptr=0x8147e00, sptr=0x8147e00, sig=1) at s_conf.c:6948 #5 0x080666de in main (argc=1069798242, argv=0x81485e0) at ircd.c:1413 #6 0x42015574 in __libc_start_main () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6 |

Could you try a clean UnrealIRCd dir ("make clean; make" is enough) WITHOUT any 3rd party modules and WITHOUT any source code modifications? |
yes i can im currently working on that right now |
Or actually, just do a real new directory, as mentioned in the upgrade instructions in the manual. |
there is a problem in a module somewhere i am in the process of zeroing it out so other users dont try to use it with this version |
third party module jointhrottle.so is buggy |
Ok, I suggest you notify the coder of that module then. |
