| Description | Wouldn't it be better if the output in /motd would be justified instead of this style like now? Now the words are cut, for examle: /motd: Hello our dear visit or and welcome to ou r perfect stable and blah blah server. If you want to read net work rules, please t ype /rules and so fa r blah blah Instead, it should be like this: Hello our dear visitor and welcome to our perfect stable and blah blah server. If you want to read network rules, please type /rules and so far blah blah.. Well I think you understood what I mean.. | ||||

Keep it to (I think it's) 80 columns, and you'll be fine. |

80 sounds about right, I'd go with 60 though, since it's a safer number. If you have a decent editor you can count column numbers - just avoid hardtabs. Some examples: nano/pico can show you this info with Alt+C, vi shows it constantly I think, both editors included with windows don't but you could always hit Home and then count in step with Shift+Right ;) . Or hit space bar 60 or whatever times, then hit | then make sure no line crosses the | - but use a fixed pitch font if you use that approach! (You could cut+paste the line as you go if you needed.) |

although, it might be nice, if someone has time on their hands, to make it wrap at word boundries only |

remeber the client may wrap it if they (for some strange reason) have the server message window smaller then 80 across. this might cut off words too? |

Yeah but that's their fault. IRCds don't know squat about client windows. |
