| Description | I checked the way to change pid path or file name, but it seems only possible when changing the source. It would be nice to set it in configuration, like eggdrops. So it allows to run several instances of ircd on a single server. | ||||

Making Unreal so multiple instances may be run from the same installation directory would require more than just changing the PID path. You'd have to make it so you can specify which configuration file to use as well. I can see a reason for wanting to change the PID path, as many people like having their PIDs in the same location for management purposes (like cron check scripts). If someone wants to write a patch to add set::pid-path it would have a much greater chance of getting implemented. |

stealth: unreal has the -f option which specifies the location of the configuration file... or at least src/ircd --help claims to. It works for me too. See bug 0003863 for my patch. |
